1. How long have you worked in the Small Business Banking space?

I’ve spent more than 25 years in the financial services industry, with a focus on business funding and solutions that support entrepreneurs and small business owners. I’ve been with WSFS Bank for eight years, starting as SVP, Director of Government Guaranteed Lending, and have worked my way to Chief Business Banking Officer, where I support relationships and set strategy for business banking, small business, and SBA relations segments.

2. Why small business banking?

I’m passionate about supporting the next generation of business owners and encouraging entrepreneurs to reach their goals. As a former business owner myself, I understand the challenges and opportunities facing them. It’s meaningful to partner with individuals who are building and serving our communities, and I enjoy playing a role in helping them grow. Business banking allows me and my team to build strong, lasting relationships, and I’m driven by the opportunity to guide owners through the lending process and provide support that helps them move forward with confidence. These businesses serve as the lifeblood of the local economies and fixtures of main street. As a community banker, I’m proud to serve as a trusted advisor for these businesses.

3. What are you looking forward to in the small business banking space this year?

Financial technology continues to evolve, creating more effective tools and ways to access capital for small business owners. The industry is evolving from an one-size-fits-all offerings and moving toward more tailored solutions that fit each business’s unique needs. WSFS Bank is at the center of that as our Associates serve as trusted advisors for each of our Clients.

4. Could you share a success story from your time as a small business banker?

Supporting small businesses is all about impact. I remember years ago we had an HVAC business that served commercial contracts, and they lost an important client relationship ultimately compressing their profitability. However, the business owner had a plan for growth that WSFS bought into. This is where relationships and local underwriting are a difference maker. We were able to support their needs with an SBA loan. A few years later we were able to refinance them with Business Banking, and they are now thriving. This relationship is now well cared for by WSFS’ Commercial Team. It is wonderful to help our Clients achieve their growth goals at all stages of business and provide real solutions that drive their success. It truly is about providing value back to our Clients at the right time. This is what distinguishes a true relationship manager. It is not about a single transaction or product. It is about understanding Client needs and presenting financial solutions to help them get to the next milestone of their business growth.
