Recognizing The Resiliency Of America’s Small and Franchised Businesses
Over the past 18 months, American small and franchised businesses have contended with lockdowns, labor shortages, supply-chain issues and other economic impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic.
This year the Consumer Bankers Association (CBA), International Franchise Association (IFA), National Association of Women Business Owners (NAWBO), and U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) are joining forces on a new series — #SmallBusinessSpotlight — showcasing the perseverance of our nation’s 30 million small and franchised businesses as well as the indelible role America’s leading banks have played to support them during this economic crisis.
Providing Safe Home Healthcare
While many businesses were impacted by the onset of COVID, few faced more challenges than the home care industry. Thankful Larry Aronson was able to receive his PPP loan from Investors Bank, which will soon be a part of CBA member bank, Citizens Bank, and ensure their clients safely received the care they needed while supporting their caregivers.
Breathing life into a floral shop
With much of Le Printemps’ business coming from hotels, weddings, and other events, they quickly found themselves affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Wells Fargo shares their story and how they were able to apply for and received both rounds of PPP loans.

Murriel Webb tells about her journey to securing a PPP loan that helped her daycare remain open and financially viable for the children and families they serve thanks to the support of Comerica.
Bringing peace to mind and body
Nikki Enfield walked into her local TD Bank branch with uncertainty and concern for her massage therapy business. She walked away with a newfound hope and financial security.

Scripted Healthcare was just wrapping their first year when the pandemic hit, bringing new uncertainty to a business trying to figure itself out. Partnering with Commerce Bank, Casey was able to secure a PPP loan and continue serving his community.
Securing forgiveness
AARDCO's servicing, their major source of revenue, was brought to a halt because of the pandemic. With PNC, Tammy secured both rounds of PPP loans and they are on their way to full forgiveness.
Protecting customers and employees
Composing Room, Inc. had some tough decisions to make when COVID disrupted operations. Thankfully, M&T Bank was able to quickly help with relief to save jobs and protect the health of their employees so they could safely serve their customers.
